The Pittsburgh Foundations #ONEDAY Critical Needs online giving event is raising money to support organizations that provide basic needs for our neighbors in need. Since 2013, Critical Needs Alerts have raised nearly $12 million. Though communities are slowly recovering from the economic impacts of COVID, the need for food, housing, health care, child care and employment are greater than ever.
Will Allen, who joined the Foundation’s Board of Directors in June 2023, has an authentic style of leadership honed from years of team sports and business. He has combined that with an innate sense for people, motivation drivers and collaboration, which he leverages to identify distinct qualities of leadership and keen recognition for strategy execution.
Born in Pittsburgh, PA on May 8, 1988, Emily Hoffman lived a life full of learning and adventure. She grew up in the city’s Point Breeze neighborhood, where she was living at time of her unexpected death in February 2023. She died from injuries sustained after being struck by a car, but in her death she gave the gift of life through organ donation.
