Taren joined The Pittsburgh Foundation in 2018 as a research and administrative assistant for the Center for Philanthropy and was promoted to research coordinator in 2020. Prior to this she served as a Donor Services intern. She conducts research and creates custom reports aligned with donor interests, which helps donors to decide the organizations to which they will donate. She also provides logistical support and project management for Center for Philanthropy projects and initiatives. Among the projects Taren organizes is the Foundation’s popular Wish Book, through which donors use their donor-advised fund to fulfill requests from nonprofits on a rolling basis at the end of each year. That campaign raises more than $300,000 annually for nonprofits.

Taren graduated from Point Park with a bachelor’s degree in sports arts and entertainment management.

Taren also works as a public service clerk at the B.F. Jones Memorial Library in her hometown of Aliquippa. She is a lover of anime and comic books, participating in cosplay, collecting figurines and going to conventions. She also enjoys concerts and festivals, and she tries to attend at least one show every month.
