Small and Mighty: The Wellness Collective

The Wellness Collective

The Pittsburgh Foundation’s Small and Mighty program awarded $15,000 to The Wellness Collective in 2021. The organization works to restore and support interdependence between Pittsburgh neighborhoods.

The Wellness Collective is a Black-led organization that restores and maintains power and interdependence in Pittsburgh communities through a mutual-aid approach. The organization collaborates with people who are experiencing crises to develop effective solutions that restore stability and strengthen resiliency. This includes both monetary and non-monetary local resource collection and redistribution as well as improving access to services. The grant will support the organization’s Community Bank, which provides food, mental health, housing and transportation services.

The Small and Mighty grants program focuses on grant seeking for small nonprofits that are meeting basic needs in our region. Since 2016, the program has awarded funding to many nonprofit organizations with budgets of less than $600,000. A list of all Small and Mighty Grantees is on the Foundation’s website
