John Hrenick joined the Finance team at The Pittsburgh Foundation in November 2021 as the staff accountant focusing on financial reporting. He is responsible for various day-to-day accounting functions within the Finance and Investment team. Prior to joining the Foundation, John spent three years as the finance associate at The Frick Pittsburgh, where he led the organization’s accounts payable and payroll operations. Before that, he was the accounts payable/human resource associate at The United Way of Southwestern Pennsylvania. He graduated from Allegheny College in 2017 with a bachelor’s in economics and minors in psychology and religious studies. John is passionate about serving his community and participates annually in the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program, which offers free tax help to people who need assistance in preparing their own tax returns. VITA primarily serves people making $54,000 or less, people with disabilities, the elderly and people with limited English. A native of Erie, Pennsylvania, John enjoys kayaking on Lake Erie during the summer months. He also enjoys hiking, disk golf and camping in the Allegheny National Forest.
