Artist opportunities information session

Pittsburgh, PA, August 4, 2015 – Grants, residencies, and professional development opportunities for the region’s creative artists are the topics for an upcoming information session taking place on Monday, October 5 at the New Hazlett Theater on Pittsburgh’s North Side.  Doors open at 5:30 p.m. and presentations will begin promptly at 6:00 p.m. The information session is the result of a collaboration between the Greater Pittsburgh Arts Council, the New Hazlett Theater, Pittsburgh Filmmakers, The Pittsburgh Foundation and The Heinz Endowments.  Collaborators hope to increase the awareness of opportunities for creative artists in the region and share details on eligibility, how to apply, program deadlines, and tips for writing successful applications.

Following the panel discussions, a reception with roundtables will provide a chance to meet representatives of each program and network with other artists and previous grantees.

Representatives from the following programs will attend:

  • Investing in Professional Artists: The Pittsburgh Region Artists Program
  • Advancing Black Arts in Pittsburgh Grants Program
  • Artist Opportunity Grants
  • Pennsylvania Partners in the Arts Grants Programs
  • The Access Microfund
  • The New Hazlett Theater’s Community Supported Arts Performance Series
  • Pittsburgh Filmmaker’s Flight School Program

In addition to these, lists of other opportunities and services available to artists will be available.

The information session and networking reception are free to area artists, but registration is recommended.
