Since joining the Foundation’s staff in April 2014, Jay has played increasingly important roles in the Finance and Investments department, providing strategic insight and building relationships in the advisor, investment and banking communities. With a background in portfolio analysis and investment management, Jay came on board as a senior investment analyst and has taken increasing responsibility for the oversight and management of the Legacy Fund assets and the Foundation’s trust bank relationships. He also oversees the Foundation’s Third Party Investment Manager Program, through which qualified local investment managers maintain advisory capacity over donor funds. Jay significantly increased the capacity and depth of that program. He also works closely with the Development staff as they coordinate with investment managers to establish new charitable funds at the Foundation.
He most recently served as a senior portfolio analyst with a local investment advisory firm, where he specialized in allocation strategies for high-net worth clients. He earned his bachelor’s in Finance from John Carroll University and holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation. A competitive swimmer in college, he later took up open-water swimming for fitness and adventure. Among his most memorable life events was swimming to shore in San Francisco from Alcatraz. He lives in Mount Lebanon with his wife, Mary Ellen, two daughters and Olive the chug puppy.
